I’m Ebrahim Elmoly an Egyptian-born visual artist, ceramics teacher, and former photojournalist now based in Lisbon.
Born on the Nile and working beside the Tagus, my practice focuses on clay and textiles, exploring identity, memory, and landscape through tactile, expressive forms.
In my studio I work exclusively with raw clay and traditional hand-building techniques, My designs are organic and textured, shaped by a balance of restraint and gesture and informed by Egyptian heritage, Islamic geometry, and the varied landscapes of Portugal and Europe.
Studio Elmoly in the heart of lisbon, grew from a long engagement with visual storytelling, research, and a deep respect for material and process.
Once a journalist, I now let earth, pressure, and fire tell the story.
For commissions, collaborations, or questions about my practice, I’d love to connect.
